Mindful Living in 2023 - It's time to take action.

"The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it."

~ Robert Swan

This quote from Robert Swan sums up the importance of living more sustainably. It’s not someone else’s problem to solve climate issues, instead, it starts with everyone making a change. A positive change will compound exponentially if everyone gets on board, however the same is true with the opposite. If everyone thinks that another person can work to save our planet, then no one is doing anything!

The change you make to live more sustainably does not have to be drastic. If everyone made one small change to their daily life, it could make a big difference.

Before we get into some ways to live more sustainably, here are the current facts:

  • There are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean. Of that mass, 269,000 tons float on the surface, while some four billion plastic microfibers per square kilometer litter the deep sea (National Geographic).

  • The United States ranks #2 in pollution by country at 4,715,568,000 tons

  • Every year, U.S. landfills are filled with 139.6 million tons of waste, including 30.63 million tons of food. 26.82 million tons of plastic. 18.35 million tons of paper and paperboard (Dumpster.com).

Here are some ways to live more sustainably and help these numbers decline

  • Use public transport! The less use of personal transportation, the fewer cars on the road which means a decrease in CO2 emissions

  • Reduce. Reuse & Recycle! Check out our Instagram for tips on recycling, reusable items, and more.

  • Go plastic free

    • Switch out the plastic water bottles for one of our Yeti Ramblers!

  • Be water wise

    • Surprisingly, a dishwasher uses LESS water than hand washing.

    • Turn off your sink while brushing your teeth

  • Pay attention to labels

    • This is especially important when shopping! Our brands are eco-conscious so you can shop greener.

  • And so much more!!
